Seattle sits at the 47th parallel, this means long days in the summer but also lots of darkness in the winter and a long period of the year where there is no ultraviolet light. If you've lived through a winter in Seattle you are familiar with this phenomenon, and have probably experienced the "blues" that can accompany short, dark, and cold days of the pacific northwest. It doesn't have to be this way! In this talk we will be discussing all things light, visible, ultraviolet, infrared, and how to use them in the dark times here to maintain jubilant mood, energy, and proper sleep cycles. We'll also talk about the fascinating concept of hygge (pronounced "hue-guh") which has been a part of winter Norwegian culture for centuries but has only recently been appreciated on this side of the pond.
All day climbing competition and community event! A redpoint-style bouldering competition, rad sponsor booths, and live DJ music to drive the stoke. West Wall is hosting a beer garden to get you psyched for our spectator-friendly onsight finals and, of course, the after-party (finals and after-party are free!)
A vision of two-time freeskiing world champion Drew Tabke’s life in the steeps. The pitfalls, triumphs and lessons learned between the kiddie slopes and the top of the podium.
"Sustenance is the debut book by Rosie Llewellyn, a lifetime writer and newly self-published author, whose poems render minimalism with depth. Sustenance explores themes of identity and culture through the lens of adoption, wellness, and self-reflection. Rosie’s work is both personal and universal, blending the perspective of love, loss, empowerment, and healing as a source of strength nourishment."
Join us to hear some short readings followed by book sales and signing. Iggy's Kombucha will be flowing for those who attend!
